Nadhim Zahawi leaves Department for Education

Nadhim Zahawi has confirmed that he is leaving his role at the Department for Education (DfE) as part of a wider government reshuffle.
Zahawi is leaving his role as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children and Families and will join the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Business.
A replacement has yet to be named as the new prime minister continues to appoint new ministers.
Zahawi has served at the Children and Families Minister since January 2018.
Writing on Twitter, Zahawi said: 鈥淚t was an honour to serve as Children鈥檚 Minister [鈥 I wish my successor all the very best, he or she could not have a better team to support them.鈥
The government also confirmed that current School Standards Minister Nick Gibb will remain in his role at the DfE.
