Alliance launches nutrition course with Early Years Nutrition Partnership

The Alliance has launched a new online training course on early years nutrition in partnership with the (EYNP).
Providing a healthy food environment in early years settings is now available free to Alliance members through the Alliance鈥檚 partnership with CPD-approved training provider .
Healthy eating
The course includes three modules: Nutrition fundamentals for children aged one to four; healthy portion sizes; and healthy packed lunches.
Designed to give practitioners a fuller understanding of why nutrition is so important in the early years, the course looks at oral health, typical eating habits and the role of main food groups.

Annie Denny, nutrition development manager at the EYNP, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e delighted to have been involved in developing this exciting new EduCare course, providing practitioners the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of early years nutrition.
鈥淕etting healthy eating right at this early stage is crucial, and with children spending more and more time in early years settings, it鈥檚 important that they are learning good habits, and being exposed to a variety of different foods. This course is a great introduction to the other services we can offer settings through the Early Years Nutrition Partnership.鈥
