APPG to discuss the financial security of early years settings

By Rachel Lawler

The Childcare and Early Education All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) is due to discuss the financial stability of non-maintained early years settings.

The group will meet on 1 November ahead of the government's next Budget to discuss the financial pressures facing providers and why so many are currently operating at a loss, and to considerpotential policy solutions to resolve this problem.

Tulip Siddiq, and ex-shadow minister for the early years, will host the meeting, with children and families minister Robert Goodwill has been invited to attend.

The Childcare and Early Education APPG launched earlier this year, with sponsorship from the Alliance, NDNA, CACHE, The Foundation Stage Forum and Tops Day Nurseries.

аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø¿ª½± who are concerned about their financial stability are encouraged to contact their MP, asking them to attend the meeting or join the APPG – you can contact your MP using the website.
