Alliance creates ‘need to know’ 30-hours document for parents

Document can be shared with parents to help explain funding concerns

The Alliance has created a downloadable document to help providers explain concerns around early years funding ahead of the roll-out of the 30-hours offer.

The ‘need to know’ document is available to download  and can be printed out or shared with parents via email or on social media. The aim of the guide is to help explain why some providers are choosing not to offer the funded hours or introducing higher fees, and to raise awareness of the rising number of provider closures.

The guide is part of the Alliance’s Fair Future Funding campaign, which was recently extended to include parents, and is calling on the government to ensure that funding increases to cover the cost of provision by monitoring average delivery costs on a local level.

Recent research carried out by the Alliance suggested that just 44% of providers are currently planning to offer the 30-hours at their setting, compared to 95% who were offering 15-hours.
