Alliance welcomes changes to complaint-driven inspection rules
21st August 2014
The Alliance has warmly welcomed the news that trialled changes to the way complaint-driven early years inspections are carried out are to be made permanent.
Previously, if a concern or complaint raised against an early years provider prompted a compliance investigation, 新澳门六合彩官网开奖 would carry either a priority inspection (within five work days), or a brought-forward inspection (within 30 working days).
However, 新澳门六合彩官网开奖 has now confirmed that it will be removing the 鈥榖rought-forward鈥 option, following a successful trial of the change. Going forward, complaints will either prompt a priority inspection or will be followed up at the provider鈥檚 next scheduled inspection.
Commenting on the decision, Alliance chief executive Neil Leitch said:
鈥淲e welcome the decision to make this change to the complaint-driven inspection process permanent. Following the introduction of complaint-driven inspections, reports of providers being subjected to repeated malicious and spurious complaints became increasingly common, and it was clear that action needed to be taken to try and prevent this.
鈥淲e believe that this change is a far more sensible and proportionate way to deal with complaints which will create a fairer system for providers while ensuring that children鈥檚 safety and well-being remains a priority.
鈥淚t is very encouraging to see that 新澳门六合彩官网开奖 has listened and responded to provider concerns on this issue, and we hope that this collaborative approach will continue on other areas of proposed reform.鈥
