Alliance launches 'Effective Transition and Emotional Wellbeing in the Early Years' online course
The Early Years Alliance has today announced the launch of the ‘Effective Transition and Emotional Wellbeing in the Early Years’ online training course in partnership with CPD-accredited online training provider EduCare.
The course is aimed at anyone working in an early years setting setting and helps practitioners explore themes including:
- The settling-in process: Supports practitioners to aid emotional wellbeing during the settling-in process
- Creating a calm environment: Provides practitioners with new ideas for how to create a calm and enabling environment.
- Trauma-informed practice: Aims to help practitioners explore trauma-informed practice and it’s influence on behaviour.
- Behaviour: Supports practitioners in how to assess and deal with challenging behaviour.
- Secure attachment: Guides practitioners on how to create secure attachments to support children through emotional upset or anxiety.
- Staff wellbeing: Aims to help practitioners to reflect on their own feelings, to review stress levels with ideas on reflective times and how regular staff meetings can be used to discuss staff wellbeing.
‘Effective Transition and Emotional Wellbeing in the Early Years’ is free to all Alliance members and for the special discounted price of £10.50 to non-members.

The CPD-certified training programme takes approximately one hour to complete and on passing the course, practitioners will receive a certificate for their records.
Commenting on the launch, Alliance director of quality improvement, Michael Freeston, said:

"Transitions can be challenging for young children, especially in these exceptional times and we hope this course will provide timely support for practitioners, who play an essential role in guiding them through these anxious periods."
