Autumn Term
In the Autumn term we focused on the topics Festivals & celebrations, Road safety and Change of weather.
The children learned about the different festivals that are celebrated around the world. This included reading stories, making props and decorations to enhance their understanding of different religions and faiths.
As part of road safety week the children learned how to stay safe when crossing the road, what the traffic light signals means and the different types of vehicles we have on the road. The children carried out role play in the construction and garden area and made vehicles using different available shapes.
As the weather is changing, the children read stories on the different seasons, looking at the different changes that are happening in the outdoor environment and what clothing we need to wear to stay warm.
The children have enjoyed making their own leaves using the chalk boards in the garden and using different types of mark making resources. The children discussed the different types of animals that hibernate during the cold season and have made their own hedgehogs using playdough and spaghetti.
Animal Edge Farm Visit
Foxcubs nursery had a visit from Animal Edge farm that specialises in bringing a variety of friendly animals. They delivered a real hands-on educational and tactile experience for the children to enjoy. Among the animals they brought were goats, chickens, a donkey, rabbits and guinea pigs. All the children were very excited to see the animals in real life as they had the opportunity to touch and stroke them. Parents were invited into the session to share this wonderful experience with us.

Our Team
Our well qualified, committed and experienced team works hard to create a caring and learning environment in the nursery. We know every child develops differently and at different times. Every child has a key person who understands their individual needs and interests. This helps us to ensure every child feels involved, stimulated and happy in our care.
We follow rigorous staff recruitment and supervision procedures to ensure anyone joining our team undertakes relevant security checks including Disclosure and Barring Service, references and qualification checks. Parents are reassured knowing child protection and safeguarding underpins every aspect of our practice and will continue to remain a priority for us.
Your child's 'key person'
Every child who joins the nursery receives support from an experienced member of the team. They are responsible for your child鈥檚 individual needs and known as the 鈥榢ey person鈥. The key person is your main point of contact however all nursery staff are happy to feedback on your child鈥檚 developmental progress on a daily basis or discuss any concerns with you. They will also keep records of your child鈥檚 progress and achievement, which are always available for you to see and contribute towards.
Your child鈥檚 key person will make time to find out from you about your child鈥檚 interests, likes, dislikes and special requirements. Please share any important or useful information when you register your child and throughout their time with us. This helps us to give your child the most appropriate care. You can access and contribute to your child's progress in their records.
