Goodbye to the class of 2020 and end of term party.

We had a small party to say goodbye to some of the children who are leaving us to go to school or to a foundation class. We had a lovely party with some party food, cake, and party games.

We all also had many of kind words said to us from parents and children, the staff recieved some very nice cards and presents from our families too, which we are truly greatful for, Thank you once again.

February brough us аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø¿ª½± and lots of snow on the same day!!!

We are pleased to say that we had our аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø¿ª½± inspection and they graded us a 'GOOD' we would like to say a big thank you to the parents who spoke to the inspectors and gave them some really good postive feedback about our setting.

January

We looked at the importance of brushing our teeth and eating healthy food, we practised brushing the teeth using toothpaste and a brush, making sure we brushed all the teeth, including the ones at the back and what may happen if we don't brush them daily.

We had some positive feedback fro parents who said they had had difficulty in getting their children to brush their teeth at home, they said their children would happily do this now and some even asked to brush their teeth.

Healthy Snacks

We have been making and trying lots of new food and recipies  for snack this half term. We have made vegetable kebabs, carrot cake, banana bread and fruit pancakes.

The children have enjoyed making and eating all of these as you can see from our pictures.

Summer 2018

Gardening Fun

We have been busy growing this term.  We have planted beans, peas, pumpkin's, strawberry's and potatoes.

The children have learnt more about different vegetables and how to look after them.  The children planted their own beans to take home with lots of learning promts as part of our home learning activity this term.

We have incorporated healthy eating and been trying lots of new vegetables and fruits at snack time too.

The children enjoyed finding the potatoes when it was time to pull them up.

Autumn 2018

Pizza Making

We made pizzas to introduce new vegetables to the children and encourage healthy choices.  The practitioners introduced the children to different vegetables, smelling them, tasting them and exploring the diffrent textures.  The children then chose what they wanted to add on to their pizza.

Making the Pizza                                                Before cooking                                              End result - yummy!

Outdoor Painting

The children explored with paint and objects they could roll down the paper to make marks.

The children chose different objects such as cars and balls to see how far they would roll.

Home Learning

This is where we encourage our parents to extend their children's learning at home.

Take a look at our some of our activities:

Growing - We planted beans with the children at nursery.  The children had lots of fun filling their pot and planting their seed.  We talked about what the seed needs to grow and how we can look after it.  We also read a story about a bean.  The children then took them home to look after them.

Our parents sent in photographs to show us how their bean had grown.  We displayed them on our home learning board in nursery for everyone to see.

Our Team

Child and practitioner reading togetherOur well qualified, committed and experienced team works hard to create a caring and learning environment in the nursery.

We know that every child develops differently and at different times. Every child has a key person who understands their individual needs and interests. This helps us to ensure that every child feels involved, stimulated and happy in our care.

We follow rigorous staff recruitment, selection and supervision procedures to ensure that anyone joining our team undertakes relevant security checks including Disclosure and Barring Service disclosure, references and qualification checks. Parents are reassured knowing that child protection and safeguarding underpins every aspect of our practice.

Your child's 'key person'

Every child who joins the nursery receives support from an experienced member of the team. They are responsible for your child’s individual needs and known as the ‘key person’.

The key person is your main point of contact however all nursery staff are happy to feedback on your child’s developmental progress on a daily basis or discuss any concerns with you. They will also keep records of your child’s progress and achievement, which are always available for you to see and contribute towards.

Your child’s key person will make time to find out from you about your child’s interests, likes, dislikes and special requirements.

Please share any important or useful information when you register your child and throughout their time with us. This helps us to give your child the most appropriate care and learning to suit their developmental, emotional and physical needs. You can access and contribute your views to your child's progress and achievements in their records.
