Men in childcare survey launches

men in childcare early years

A new aiming to find out why so few men choose a career in the early years has launched.

Created by the GenderEYE project at Lancaster University and the Fatherhood Institute, the survey aims to find out why men are not willing to train or work in the early years sector.

The survey will also try to establish what support can be offered to the men that do choose to work in the early years sector.

The group estimates that just 2% of the current early years workforce is male.

Early years managers, practitioners and other staff are asked to complete the short survey online. All responses will be kept anonymous and respondents will have a choice of completing a quick one-minute survey or the full five to 10 minute survey.
