Early Years Alliance launches energy costs survey
Leading early years organisation the Early Years Alliance has today (17 October) launched a survey on the impact of rising energy costs on early years settings.
As the government looks to review existing support measures and to consider where it might focus further target schemes, the Alliance’s survey aims to gain provider perspectives on how settings are being affected by rising energy costs, and to what extent existing government support packages, including the Energy Bill Relief Scheme, are likely to help settings manage the rising cost of gas and electricity.
The findings will be used to support the Alliance’s ongoing campaigning work and help inform conversations with policymakers regarding these issues. All responses will be kept anonymous.
Commenting, Neil Leitch, CEO of the Early Years Alliance, said: “There’s no doubt that the soaring cost of gas and electricity is having a significant impact on the early years sector and continues to heap additional pressure on a sector that is already being pushed to the brink.
“As we head further into the autumn and winter months, and the government looks to review both existing and future support, we are keen to ensure that we have a holistic and up-to-date understanding of how rising energy costs are impacting early years providers.
“As such, we hope that as many providers as possible will respond to the survey and make their voices heard.”
The survey will close on Monday 24 October and can be completed using the following link
